Do I tempt fate?

We all have heard several superstitions, wives tales about knitting. Don't knit a sweater for your boyfriend, you'll break up with him before you finish it. Don't knit socks for a boyfriend, he'll walk away from you. If you knit your hair into a project that binds you to that person. Well I have one that says Don't cast on a new project on a Friday, you will never finish it. I have two new projects to cast on, one a shrug for a best friend and one a sweater for my husband. Do I tempt fate and cast on anyway or do I go to another project that has already been started and keep working on it, and cast on the shrug tomorrow??? Let me know what you think.
